 Is Money evil?

Money is neither EVIL nor GOOD until it comes to your hand. The moment money comes to someone's hand, it becomes either EVIL or GOOD in the hand of the person who would possess it. In other words, if you have money with you, that money becomes either good or evil to you where God is concerned and it would never take a middle path becoming neither EVIL nor GOOD.
Well, how do you know whether the money in your hand has become good or evil for your life?  Look at the below scripture:
(1Ti 6:10)
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Yes, the money in your possession becomes evil for your life if you love it. How do you know whether you have the love of money?

Here are some symptoms of love of money:

Those who love money don't have true love of God.
Those who love money always put their heart upon it and begin to trust in it for future security.
Those who love money shall not generally have rest and sleep.
Those who love money find it difficult to trust God for miracles.
Those who love money never believe that they are old even after they are old.
Those who love money never say, "ENOUGH".
Those who love money always think, act and judge carnally and they never gain spiritual discernment.
Those who love money always operate in fear of the future.

However, it is God's will that you become wealthy. Why? because God wants to bless you and make you a blessing for others.
God said to Abraham that He would bless him and make him a blessing for others.
(Gen 12:2)
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Truly God wanted to bless Abraham materially. God also wanted to create a nation out of Abraham's seed and bless them materially. Although Abraham was not alive to enjoy the material blessings of the land promised for Abraham's seed, Abraham was materially blessed while he was living on a foreign land.
(Gen 13:2)
And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

God also gave power for Abraham's seed to get wealthy as God has promised Abraham that He would bless his seed (materially). Look at the below scripture:
(Deu 8:18)
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

In exchange of wealth God promised to Abraham and his seed, what did God expect?

God expected nothing, but their HEART. That's why the psalmist says that if riches increase, we should not set our heart upon them.
(Psa 62:10)
... if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

In the same way, God wants His people in the New Testament to be wealthy as He wants them to be blessed and a blessing for others. But God never wants us to put our heart upon our wealth when God would increase it because God wants our heart. Why? because God wants us to trust him with all our heart for anything and everything in the midst of our wealth which is given by God Himself. But the moment we put our heart upon our wealth, we would never be able to trust God with the same heart as our heart cannot serve two masters.
(Matthew 6:24)
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money).

Hence, God wants to check our heart all the time while God is increasing our riches. How does God do it?

God checks our heart asking us to give out of what we have to others. A cheerful giver honors God when he is giving because he proves that he trusts in God for his future.
(Pro 3:9)
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

God uses what we give to others as seed sown on the ground. Thus, God multiplies what we give to others and give back to us.
(2Co 9:10)
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

Why does God multiply what we give and given back to us?

Again the purpose is the same. God wants to bless us more and wants us to be a blessing by increasing our giving to others. God wants us to balance receiving and giving all the time with the increase of wealth. In other words, the more we receive, the more we should give.

It is only giving that can make us lose our love of money. How? when giving, we lose money. When we learn to lose money we learn to lose our love of money.

THE POWER OF RECEIVING

We all are humans. Hence when we receive, we are tempted to love what we receive. But we can fight against our temptation if we always try to balance our receiving with our giving. The more you receive, the more you should give. In other words, our giving should be proportional to our receiving. The power of receiving is coming through the power of giving.
(Luke 6:38)
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
