Being
the people in the New Testament, it is very important for us to have a
better knowledge of Satan as we always have a spiritual battle against
him. No Christian is exempt from this battle. Every Christian should
confront Satan and fight against him.
(Eph 6:12)
For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Apostle Paul refers to the above wrestle against Satan and his angels as the good fight of faith in the below verse:(1Ti 6:12)
Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art
also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Today,
many Christians think that they have nothing to do with the devil.
Mostly they are made to think so by their own denominations. There are
churches wherein you never hear a prayer that has any kind of rebuke against Satan. You hear very beautiful sermons in these churches.These sermons are so beautiful that you automatically forget the existence of demons on earth.
For these churches, there are no spiritual battles with principalities
and powers in heavenly places. They think these battles are not relevant
to them as they never go out of mind, like demon-possessed people who
are jumping, rolling and dancing. But you know they are also
demon-possessed, but the difference is that the devil is not manifesting
in his real nature in their lives. How do you prove?
Look at the diseases these people are suffering from. The devil has
struck many Christians who believe that the devil has nothing to do with
them, with diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure (low & high),
continuous phlegm troubles such as catarrh, constant headaches such as
migraine, constant toothaches (with bad teeth however hard they brush
their teeth), longstanding skin diseases such as rashes and wounds,
never-ending coughs and many more.
Many are prone even to terminal diseases such as Cancer, Leukemia
and Paralysis. But unfortunately, these Christians never understand the
connection between these diseases and the devil. Hence, they spend their
whole life with physicians, but still at any point in time, they have
something in their bodies to deal with. They never realize what these
physicians identify is only the damage (problem) done by the devil and not the devil (root of the problem) as the devil cannot be detected by the stethoscope.
As such, they give the treatment to the damage done by the devil. Hence
the devil is conveniently afflicting these Christians with diseases one
after the other as the devil has no resistance neither from them nor
from their doctors.
You know the devil is using diverse methods
to afflict people. Apart from diseases, the devil is using sexual
immorality against many Christians who do not resist the devil. Many are
slaves of these kinds of sins for their entire life. As a result, they
are preparing their souls for the devil to take them to hell at their
death. These people sometimes may not suffer from any diseases as the
devil is not bothered as long as he meets his final objective, which is
to take every human soul to the same place where the devil is (hell) and
where he is going to be (lake of fire).
I was suffering from several longstanding diseases when I was in the
world. But I never suspected the devil as I had never found myself with
devil-dancing. I had never seen the devil being manifesting in any
person who is connected with my life (my immediate family members &
relations).
But, you know, right after I made a decision to follow the Lord with
all my heart, I was delivered from all my diseases completely. But
then, the devil started to manifest himself against me in his real form.
I started to dream devils. I started to see my children being possessed
with devils in reality. In other words, the devil started to be real in
my life.
I was wondering how could this happen. When I departed from the evil
and got closer to God, how come the devil was attacking me like this?
I
started to think that other people were better than me as they have no
problems from the devil I was having. But, you know, later, the Lord
revealed me everything. Truly, the Lord revealed me that the devil is not in peace even with other people, but the difference is that the devil is not manifesting in his real form in their lives just because they do not resist the devil.
The Lord showed me it was the devil who had afflicted me with so many diseases as I had empowered him through my sins.
But when I gave up my sinful life and started to get close to God, the
devil lost his power to hold me in diseases anymore. When he lost this
power, he started to attack me to the face.
According to Apostle Paul, we all have a battle against the devil if
we are to be free from diseases and other major sins such as adultery
and fornication. But when you enter into this battle, it is at this
moment that you begin to see the devil in his real form.
Remember, Jesus has never promised any kind of spiritual wall around us
that would protect us from the devil. However, there are two things
Jesus has done for you and me to overcome the devil. Here they are:
1. Jesus has destroyed the angelic powers of Satan (the devil) and
all his angels and reduced his power (including his angels) to human power.
2. Jesus has given us the authority
through the Holy Spirit to fight against Satan whenever he confronts
us. Thus, when we use the authority Jesus has given us against the
devil, the devil cannot stand against us because greater is he (Holy
Spirit) that is in you than he (the devil) that is in the world (1 John
4:4).
Therefore, it is our responsibility to fight against the devil and
preserve our blessings that we have received in Christ. Nevertheless, Satan never gives up. Hence, we have to fight this battle against the devil until we are going to be with the Lord. This
is the continuous fight of faith in life on earth.
(2Ti 4:7)
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
The above verse proves the fact that Apostle Paul had been in this fight right through his life. However, it is worth fighting against the devil in this life as we never have this fight in our eternal life in the
kingdom of God as there are no devils in it.
(Rom 8:18)
For
I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be
compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
But, this does not mean that Christian life is a life of sorrow, instead we should blessed in every respect. But what we cannot avoid all the time, is persecutions . Look at the below verse:
(Mark 10:30)
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
The persecutions in the above verse show our continuous spiritual battle
against the devil. But these persecutions never mean any diseases and
any kind of poverty. All Christians are called to be free from
sicknesses and to be materially blessed. This is the fullness of God we
have in Christ. You can live without a single disease until the day of
your death.
Remember, even to die, you need not get sick. But many people think
we must have a disease to die. This is another myth the devil has kept
in the minds of Christians. You can peacefully come out of your earthly suit at the moment the Lord calls you.
So, never trust in any sickness up to the point of death. This is the
supernatural life we must live on earth as a living testimony before the
world.
