Anger Vs. Hatred

They say a child of God should not get angry. However, all of us get angry at some point. This point at which someone can get angry depends on the level of tolerance of that person. Each individual has their own level of tolerance. But those who have higher levels of tolerance seem to hold peace in day-to-day struggles more than those who have lower levels of tolerance. Nevertheless, everybody gets angry when they find themselves meeting the peak point of their tolerance levels.

Well, it is a good thing not to get angry. Even though we cannot eliminate anger from our life completely, we are supposed to maintain a higher level of tolerance when facing all kinds of irritating situations.

God never expects man to live completely away from anger. God knows that man gets angry. Why? because we bear the nature of our Creator. But the man becomes evil not because he gets angry, but because he retains anger within him continually. This is where man becomes evil while God remains holy although God gets angry.

As a commandment, we are asked not to hate others. But there is no commandment not to get angry with others. However, we are advised to be slow to anger as anger leads us to hatred. When does ANGER lead us to HATRED?

Well, when anger is retained in mind continually it finally turns into bitterness and hatred. The Bible opnely warns us against bitterness and hatred. We are not supposed to hate each other.

When a true Christian gets angry, subsequently he is led to repentance by the Holy Spirit. Under such repentance, they are prompted to apologize to anyone in order to get rid of the burden placed by the Holy Spirit in their hearts. This is the beauty of the purification process done by the Holy Spirit, who dwells in us and with us.
