17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
When we grow in the knowledge of the Word of God, we begin to believe many blessings from God for our life. However, sometimes the Spirit of God reveals that the environment wherein we are right now needs some changes if we are to create a free access for our blessings to come to our lives. Then, we realize we are supposed to make decisions in order to make these changes to our environment.
How do we know when we are in a season to make such changes to our present environment?
Well, take a good look around you. If you do not like what you see, know that you are one decision away, one act away from changing your environment.
God wants to enlarge our territory. There are blessings that are trying to get to us, but they are being blocked because we are afraid to make a decision.
If we are afraid to make decisions where necessary, our faith is dead according to the opening scripture. The real faith is accompanied by works and faith without works, but accompanied only by mere words is already dead.
We would find these decisions as risky if we look around and try to consult ungodly people (those who do not believe in God) around us.
The moment we look around, FEAR enters us and cripple FAITH in us. This same FEAR hinders us from making right decisions before God even when the Holy Spirit reveals the importance of making such decisions.
I believe the following 3 exercises would help you in receiving the boldness to make right decisions before God as they have already helped me.
1. Let's always fix our eyes upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever.
2. Let's not turn right or left by looking at present circumstances around us, but look at our God who can change any unfavorable circumstances in favor of us.
3. Let's always hold onto promises we learn in the Word of God and proclaim them in faith to those who are around us (including ungodly people).
The above 3 exercises would give us boldness in making decisions to our environment where necessary so that our blessings would flow on our way just like the way we learn them in the Word of God.
