Deut 15:6
6 For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
The
opening scripture reveals that God had given the children of Israel a
great promise that they would never borrow from other nations, instead
they would lend unto many nations.
But today, 99.9% of the children of God, who are in the New Testament and therefore supposed to be more blessed than the children of Israel who received the above promise while being in the Old Testament
have become debtors somehow or other. They are so deceived by the devil
that they believe that there is no other alternative than borrowing to
meet their financial commitments under the current economic structure in
the world.
Some get into debts in order to meet their major
financial needs such as to make a house to dwell in, buy a vehicle for
traveling, provide the furniture to the house which was also built by
borrowing.
What you believe and claim is what you receive.
Our God is Almighty and there are no boundaries for Him. It is we who
draw our own boundaries. Once we draw our boundaries, those boundaries
would determine our territory.2 Corinthians 8:9
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Some
church leaders intend to interpret the richness mentioned in the above
verse, which Jesus has brought to us by making Him poor, only to spiritual blessings. They preach in this manner because they themselves are debtors.
Spiritual
blessings always govern material blessings. No one can say that they
are blessed spiritually, while lacking material blessings. Spiritual
blessings are superior to material blessings so that there is no way that you can bypass material blessings and receive spiritual blessings.
The above verse (2 Corinthians 8:9) gives us the assurance that we have been made rich spiritually and materially through
the poverty Jesus endured by losing His glory with which He was rich
above all, with the Father in heaven. I must repeat that Jesus did not
become materially or spiritually poor in this world, but in glory He had
earlier with the Father in heaven.
I
would like to ask you a question. If we refuse to be a debtor by
claiming the promise in the opening scripture and in 2 Corinthians 8:9,
would God turn His face away from us saying this is something impossible
according to the current economy and financial structure in the
world???
Dear friends, God's promises never fail us provided we
get hold of them without looking at the circumstances and what other
people do or say about what we believe. All we need is FAITH accompanied with PATIENCE. If we are ready to adjust ourselves to God's timings even without murmuring, every promise is ours.
We
should not move with the trend in the world if such trend is against
the promises we inherit from the Word of God. We should not forget that
our God is the Creator of what is seen and what is unseen. Our God is
Almighty and nothing is impossible for Him. There is no limit for His
power and majesty. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Amen!
