Godly Anger

Have you ever heard that God sometimes wants us to get angry???

Please look at the below scriptures:

(1Sameul 11:6)
And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.

The Bible says that Jesus was chasing the merchants who were engaged in buying and selling in the temple.

(Mark 11:15)
And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

Do you think Jesus could do this without allowing any form of anger in Him?

We see even Moses taking anger over the children of Israel so many times during their journey through the wilderness. Moses even broke the first two tablets of stone, on which, God had written ten commandments with His Own finger. This is something God never wanted Moses to do.
 (Exodus 32:19)
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

Well, how do we explain this kind of anger which is allowed by God for man to operate in?

In order to fulfill the purpose of God, God puts anger in his people. This anger is referred to as 'GODLY ANGER'.
Remember! No man under the sun can be more righteous than God. God's anger is better than man's patience. However, we must make sure that we have the wisdom to distinguish between Godly Anger coming from God and Evil Anger coming from the devil.

How do we recognize these two types of anger?

Well, we first check the cause of the anger. If the cause of the anger is based on one's own pride, this anger is not godly. If you truly love the Lord, you automatically get angry when you see people working against God and His commandments. However, we are supposed to hide this anger and win such people to God with love. But this does not mean that you can be a part of their sin in the process of winning them over to God. If you do so, you would finally find that they have won you over to Satan instead you win them over to God.

Godly anger is not anything that someone can cultivate intentionally. A true Christian, who is jealous about God and His commandments inherits godly anger. When such true Christians operate in godly anger, Satan always tries to mislead them through people around them saying that they have taken evil anger, which could be explained as something against the Word of God. This is a great deception of the devil in the present generation. But remember, if you are truly operating in godly anger, God never condemns you. Instead, you would start to notice that God honors your words and God becomes proud of you.
