How to seek the kingdom of God?

Matthew 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jesus tells us to seek the kingdom of God when we are worried about our wants and needs in life.

Well, if Jesus had told us to update ourselves with the current technology, do a degree, MBA or any other part time job whenever we are worried in failing to meet our wants and needs, then we could have understood the connection between what we were asked to do and what we were worried about.

But, how come we receive our wants and needs when we seek the kingdom of God?

We seek something in order that we find it. Before we start to seek something, we should have some idea of whereabouts of the thing that we seek. Once we have this idea, we reach the area wherein what we seek could be and then start seeking.

Then, where is the kingdom of God for us to seek? Is the kingdom of God lost for us to seek? If we follow a method right now as seeking the kingdom of God, are we going to find it at the end of the process?

Well, many Christians think that living according to the Word of God is what is meant by seeking the kingdom of God. But my question is does the Bible tell us that when we lead a godly life, the kingdom of God is coming near us?

No, not at all. When you lead a godly life, you become qualified to live in the kingdom of God, but our godliness does not expedite the process of establishing the kingdom of God for us to live in.

Therefore, our approach of seeking the kingdom of God is wrong. That is the main reason why we continue to be in wanting our daily needs even though we go to church every Sunday and lead a godly life according to the doctrines.

The following scripture reveals the right method of seeking the kingdom of God

Matthew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Preaching the gospel to nations is the method of seeking the kingdom of God because only then we find the kingdom of God as it is established at the end of everything.

When we seek the kingdom of God in this right method, then everything will be added to us as promised in the opening scripture (Matthew 6:33). The below scripture further confirms the material blessings that follow those who preach the gospel.

Mark 10:29-30 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

When God can bring salvation to nations through you, then God would bring prosperity to you through the same nations as Jesus says, 'the labourer is worthy of his hire.'

Luke 10:7-9
...eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
