Have you ever come across situations where you were forced to make risky decisions in your life?
We
all make decisions in our life. We have to make some decisions quickly
and some by thinking over a period of time. Whatever way we make our
decisions, we always want them to bring us the expected results.
When
making decisions, it is the human nature to think even about the
consequences of them in case they do not bring the expected results. In
this thinking process, we may come to various conclusions based mainly
on the present circumstances around us. If the risk is high in getting the right result by making a decision, we always tend to avoid making such decision.
When
we look at the decisions made by many successful people of God in the
Bible, we notice that most of their decisions would have seemed very
risky if they had come to conclusions based on their current
circumstances. We see that God made these people so powerful because of
the same risk they had taken compared to their circumstances.
For
example, before God blessed Abraham in abundance, God wanted Abraham to
make a risk in deciding to sacrifice his son, Isaac as a burnt
offering. In the same manner, God wanted Daniel (Belteshazzar), Hananiah
(Shadrach), Mishael (Meshach) and Azariah (Abednego) to risk their
lives in making bold decisions in glorifying God, before God moved to
bless them.
Even
in the new testament, God's abundant blessings (hundred fold blessings)
are only for those who are bold enough to make decisions, which seem extremely risky under the current circumstances.
Mark 10:29-30
And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But
he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren,
and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions;
and in the world to come eternal life.
According
to the above scripture, if we need hundredfold of blessings, we have to
risk what we have in hand right at this moment. For example, in order
to receive many lands, you are supposed to sacrifice the single land you
have with you right now.
Why can't God bless us with many lands without asking us to lose the single land we have with us right now?
God likes people who become bold to risk their lives by trusting Him alone. God wants His people to trust in Him from the zero level as it is at the zero level that people fully depend on God for anything and everything.
God wants His people to come to the point where they say, 'Oh, Lord, I
have none, but only You'. God wants us to leave our wives, children,
brothers, sisters whom we have with us right now because God wants to test our heart at the zero level.
God
tested Abram at the zero level, before making him 'Abraham' which means
Father of Many. God tested Joesph at the zero level before making him
the governor over Egypt. God tested David at the zero level when he was a
shepherd boy looking after his father's sheep before exalting him to
the throne of Israel.
There is a hidden purpose for God to bring his people to the zero level before blessing them abundantly. Yes, then only the end of them becomes so beautiful and so victorious.
When
we consider Abraham, Joseph and David whom God tested at the zero
level, the end of all of them was so glorious and victorious.
At
the same time, if we look at the life of Samson, Saul and king Solomon,
who have not been tested severely before they were blessed, we can see
how all of them lost God at their end.
If we are bold enough to
risk our lives in glorifying God, we would definitely see a greater
glory of God which God has not shared with others in common.
