Well,
in order to identify the trumpet, we have to look at the environment
explained after blowing of the above trumpet. The scriptures just below
it, might help us identify which trumpet sound we hear right here.
(Joel 2:19-20)
Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: But I will remove far off from you the northern army,
and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face
toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his
stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath
done great things.
The above scriptures reveal that the World has suffered without food. Obviously, the sounding of the first three trumpets could have created this environment. However, the great Army of God appears with the sounding of the 4th trumpet. Therefore, the trumpet shown in Joel 2:15 should be one of the last three trumpets. Therefore, we must look at some other scripture to understand which trumpet sound this is.
(Joel 2:25)
And
I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which
I sent among you.
When we look at the above verse, we see God is restoring the years
that have been devoured by the locusts and the cankerworm and
caterpillers and the palmeworm. We see this type of destruction after
the sounding of the 5th Trumpet.
(Rev 9:1-3)
And
the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the
earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened
the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the
smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by
reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Therefore, now we have a reason to believe that the fifth trumpet sound may be mentioned in Joel 2:15. But still 20th verse talks about an Army called 'Southern Army'. This particular army has done great things. Look at this verse:
(Joel 2:20)
But I will remove far off from you the northern army,
and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face
toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his
stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath
done great things.
Truly, we see the coming of this type of Army only after the blowing of the 6th trumpet.
It is the army that kills the third part of men. It is the army that
does great things (fire, smoke and brimstone) for the killing. Look at
the below scriptures:
(Rev 9:14-18)
Saying
to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which
are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed,
which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year,
for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of
the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number
of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on
them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and
the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their
mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By
these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the
smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Now we have very clear evidence that the trumpet sound mentioned in Joel 2:15 is the 6th trumpet sound.
Jesus says in Matthew 24 that when the Gospel is preached to all nations in the World, we enter into the great tribulation period.
(Mat 24:14-21)
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the
holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be
in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not
come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is
in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are
with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that
your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Truly, the Great Army of God would preach the Gospel to the four
corners of the earth. At the end of their preaching, the church is fully
revived as never before. If the appearance of the Army of God takes
place with the sounding of the fourth trumpet, the great tribulation period marks the last three trumpet sounds. That is why the last three trumpet sounds are referred to by three WOEs as WOE, WOE, WOE to the inhabitants of the earth.
(Rev 8:12-13)
And
the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten,
and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as
the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third
part of it, and the night likewise. And I beheld, and heard an angel
flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
However, we see the revived church is stepping into the great
tribulation period as Jesus has explained in Matthew 24. Joel chapter 2
testifies that the revived church is going through the 5th and the 6th
trumpet sounds (1st WOE and 2nd WOE)
and then God is restoring everything back for His church that has been
devoured by the devastation under these trumpet sounds. (In fact, the
6th trumpet sound is mentioned in Joel 2:15 when explaining the restoration by God).
