OLIVE TREE
Well,
the fruits of olive trees are used to produce olive oil. The olive oil
was used to light the lamps on the candlestick which was before the ark
of the covenant with the veil, in the tabernacle of Moses (with the veil
= not inside the Most Holiest Place where only the ark of the covenant
is placed) denotes the anointing of the Spirit of the Living God.
(Exodus 27:20-21)
And
thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure
oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. In the
tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the
testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning
before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations
on the behalf of the children of Israel.
the olive tree is considered as an anointed king over Israel. (Jdges 9:8)
The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.
CANDLESTICK
In the Book of Revelation, the candlestick is used to represent the church. Look at the below scriptures:(Rev 1:20)
The
mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the
seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven
churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Truly, these two witnesses represent two kings over spiritual Israel (All People of God in the New Testament) and two kinds of churches.
Secondly, let's look at the power given to these two witnesses.
1. Power to kill anyone with fire, who tries to hurt them (if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies:)
2. Power to call upon droughts (These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy)
3. Tremendous miraculous powers to manifest signs and wonders (have power over waters to turn them to blood,)
4. Power to smite the earth with all plagues (to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will)
Now let's come to the point. What did we read in Joel Chapter 2?
You can see the power and authority given to the two witnesses are the
power and authority given to the great Army of God. Further, we studied
that this great Army of God is reviving the church by preaching the
Gospel to all nations with the sounding of the 4th trumpet. They continue to do this preaching even after the 6th trumpet sound or until the end of the 2nd WOE.
We read here in Rev 11:14 that soon after the testimony of these two
witnesses, the 2nd WOE is past and the 3rd WOE is to come quickly. The
3rd WOE comes with the sound of the seventh or the last trumpet.
If
you read Rev 11:7-14, you see these two witnesses are killed by the
beast and then after three days, they are resurrected to heaven. On the
day of their resurrection, there is going to a be a great earthquake,
from which 1/3 people are killed. This great earthquake is also
mentioned with the opening of the 6th Seal as a sign for the wrath of
God. Yes, it also marks the end of the 1st resurrection of the two
witnesses, who are killed by the beast of the. That is why you read the
same great earthquake here too. This incident also marks the end of the 2nd WOE.
Truly, although these two witnesses present the great Army of God
and the revived church, the whole of them are not killed by the beast.
After the sounding of the 6th Trumpet (with the beginning of 2nd WOE), a
certain number of saints from the Great Army of God and from the
revived church, especially called by God, shall preach the Gospel in
sackcloth for 1260 days (3.5 years) - Rev 11:3. Thus, this 3.5
period falls within the 2nd WOE (or after the sound of 6th Trumpet and
before the sound of the 7th Trumpet).
