Perfect salvation of God - Part 4

Yes, the Jews (the chief priests, the scribes and Pharisees) wanted to stone Jesus. Read the following scripture:

John 10:25-33
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (KJV)

The Jews had an accusation against Jesus, based on it, they could stone Him to death. The accusation is that claiming of Jesus that God and He are One. But when Jesus perfomed miracles, more and more people believed in Him except the majority of the chief priests, the elders, the scribes and the pharasees.
Therefore, they were afraid to stone Jesus based on this accusation. Read the below scriptures:

Luke 22:1-2
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. 2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.  (KJV)

Because of the people who were with Jesus, the chief priests and the scribes had to look for some other way, out of the law in order to kill Jesus.
Even when Jesus was proving Himself as the Son of God and the people gathered around Him, why did the chief priests and scribes and pharisees still wanted to kill Jesus? The answer is right below:

John 11:45-48
45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. 46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. 47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. 48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

Thus, Jesus was handed over to Pilate in order that Jesus would be killed by the hands of the Roman soldiers (the Gentiles) so that those Jews who wanted to kill Jesus would not be harmed by the people who were with Jesus.

However when Pilate heard of the accusation the Jews had against Jesus, he wanted them to judge Jesus according to the law of the Jews. Look at the following verse:

John 18:29-31
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? 30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law.

But, Jesus had already foretold what sort of death he would suffer. See the below verses:

18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
19 And shall deliver him to
the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

In order to fulfill what Jesus foretold, the Jews were prompted to tell a lie to Pilate. Read the below answer given by the Jews to Pilate in John 18:31 and the reason for telling this lie, is well explained in the 32nd verse of John 18.

John 18:31-32
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
