Perfect Salvation of God - Part 6

The Deliverance through the punishment of death

The death of Christ has not saved us from anything, but from sin which is in our flesh and from the death of our souls. As such, we have received two kinds of deliverance or salvation by the punishment of death.

1. Deliverance or Salvation from Sin
2. Deliverance or Salvation from Death of Our Souls
 Deliverance or Salvation from Sin

For the Jews, the salvation from sin and thereby from the works of the flesh as explained in Galatians 5:19-21 was a deliverance from the law of Moses, which is also known as the law of sin and death. Look at the below scripture in Romans 8:2

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Futher we read at Acts 13:38-39 that 'Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:' And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.'

Deliverance of sin is only a free gift given to those who believe in Christ. No man can receive it by any of their righteous acts under the sun. On the cross, Jesus bore our sin so that we could receive his righteousnss into us by accepting Him by faith.

1 Peter 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:

However, even today, whoever found in the works of the flesh through sin is subject to the law of Moses and therefore they are under a curse.
If anybody is free from sin through the death of Christ on the cross, they are free from the work of the flesh as well. This state of salvation leads to many other salvations such as salvation from hell, mental agony, poverty and so on.

Deliverance or Salvation from Death of Our Souls

Those who believe in Christ shall not taste the death of their souls, as Jesus has tasted death on the cross for those who believe in Him. Look at the following verses in Romans 6

3 , that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk
in newness of life.

The newness of life is the eternal life we receive unto our souls while we dwell in our mortal bodies. Though our mortal bodies are subject to death, our souls shall not taste death through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself has talked to the people about this salvation when He was with them in the flesh. Read the below scriptures:

Mat 16:28
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Heb 2:9
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Remember, the death of Christ has not delivered us from the death of our physical bodies, but the death of our souls.

Thus, Jesus has given us the salvation from the death of our souls and  the salvation from sin  and thereby from the works of the flesh as in Galatians 5:19-21 through His death.
Further He made this salvation perfect by receiving an additional punishment in the form of stripes through which we are free from all kinds of sicknesses, that we can enjoy right now while living in our mortal bodies. Thus it is a perfect salvation for those who understand it to its fullest extent.

The Additional Sufferings added to the two punishments given by the Gentiles

As we have read above, Jesus suffered many persecusions in addtion to the two punishments when they are compared with the law of Moses. Why did He suffer them?
Yes, we read in 1Peter 2:24 that Jesus bore our sin in His own body. From the day Adam sinned against God, sin has multiplied in man through the works of the flesh. As a result, Jesus had to bear additional sufferings in order to compensate for the sin multiplied in our flesh.
