Protection against Afflictions‏

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed
;

The above scripture lists four kinds of mental and physical attacks which the enemy could bring to the life of a true Christian.

1. Troubled
2. Perplexed
3. Persecuted
4. Cast down

If any of us is going through these attacks today, do not worry at all as we are assured by the Lord of four kinds of protection against these attacks.

1. never be distressed2. never be in despair
3. never be forsaken4. never be destroyed

We cannot avoid the afflictions until we meet with the Lord in His Kingdom as the enemy (Satan) would not give up until he is cast into the lake of fire as promised in Revelation 20:10.

However the one who goes in search of the protection from the world never experiences this protection from the Lord.
If we feel unsecured, what we lack is the presence of  God into our life. Let's spend quality time in God's presence until He gives us the sense of protection.
Isaiah 40:31 says 'But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.'

But, we should not confuse the above afflictions with long suffering sicknesses and poverty as a true Christian is totally delivered from them by the sufferings of Christ.
