Terrible consequences of being lukewarm

Revelations 3:15-17
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked

Do you know why the state of being lukewarm -the state of being neither cold nor hot, is regarded as more disastrous than the state of being either cold or hot?
 
Let's say if I am in the state of being hot in my spiritual life, the Lord would be very happy about me and He would reveal His diving purpose in me step by step as I walk with Him. Of course this is the state of the spirituality the Lord expects from all of us. 

If I am in the state of being cold towards my spiritual life, God would be sorry about it. Nevertheless, God can cause my state of being cold to bring me repentance at some point in life. For example, if I have stopped seeking God's will in my affairs completely and thus doing things on my own will, when everything starts to rise against me one after the other, God can cause me to repent on my sin of not seeking God completely for His divine revelation. It is this repentance that brings me back to the fold of the Shepherd and start everything new.

However, if I take the middle path, the devil can easily deceive me saying that I am not a loser at any point. Yes, what the devil says to me  is half true because I am neither loser nor winner at any point. The devil would not show me the fact that I never become the winner, but just struggling all the time to become the winner. It is something like a mirage in my life. I always think that I am just about to get victory. This feeling of mine is terrible before God as it distracts me from REPENTANCE.

It is only REPENTANCE that can bring us to the state of being hot in spiritual life. When we continue in the sate of being cold for some time, total failure which is brought about by the state of being cold  always drags us to REPENTANCE that finally brings us to the state of being hot in  our spiritual life.

Thus the state of being lukewarm becomes terrible for anyone as it hinders them from true REPENTANCE. The opening scripture says  that God would spue those who are lukewarm, out of His mouth because God has no remedy for these people who operate in this terrible state.

Therefore, let's become hot in our spiritual life all the time, for which state every one of us has been called. If not let's become cold rather than becoming lukewarm as there would a hope even for those who are cold.
