Tools for the job‏

 1 Corinthians 12:8-10
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9  faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10  the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
The above scriptures talk about the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.

I would like to ask you two questions about them. For whom are they??? What are they for???

Many Christians are not aware of the right answers to the above two questions. This is the reason why many of us have not experienced any of the above gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Well, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are the tools for the job of the gospel. These tools are available from the Holy Spirit for everybody who does the job of the gospel.
These gifts are not for the benefit of the person who is in possession of them, but for the others who are in need of the favour from the Lord. Therefore we cannot assure the ultimate salvation of anybody who is operating in these gifts as the salvation is preserved not by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but by the fruits of the Holy Spirit as declared in Galatians 5:22-23.

In the below scripture, Jesus Christ talks about those who are going to lose their own salvation even after they operate in gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Matt 7:22-2322 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Nevertheless, the Lord wants every Christian to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and do the gospel.
It is our responsibility to balance the gifts of the Holy Spirit with the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
