Wine Vs. Bread At The Communion Table

1 Corinthians 11:24-26
Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Jesus had his last supper with his twelve apostles as celebrating the Passover Feast.
What did the Passover Feast really mean to the people in the Old Testament?

The below scripture reveals the ideal answer to the above question.

Exodus 12:26-27

And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped
.
For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

On the day the children of Israel came out of Egypt, God declared  a new feast called 'The Passover' to Moses for the first time. Ever since, the children of Israel had been celebrating this feast annually in accordance to the instructions given in the Law of Moses.

The children of Israel were just celebrating it
in remembrance of the Lord's passing over (the Passover) their houses without allowing the destroyer (satan) to kill their firstborn.

In order to receive this protection on that day, the children of Israel had to kill a lamb and apply his blood on the lintel and on the two posts.

According to the instructions given in the Law of Moses to celebrate the Passover Feast, a lamb should be killed in remembrance of the first lamb killed on that day. This lamb, also known as the passover lamb had to be without blemish.
Exodus 12:5
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

Passover Feast is fully symbolic to the salvation which was due to come to the children of Israel through their their Messiah, Jesus Christ. But, Jesus was revealing at the last supper that the celebrating of Passover would not resemble the sacrifice of the blood of the passover lamb anymore, which had to be shed for for the Lord to pass over the houses of the children of Israel, as Jesus Himself was going to take the place of the passover lamb.

John 1:36
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

1 Peter 1:18-19
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

The below scriptures (Matthew 26:26-38) reveal Jesus proclaiming a new covenant based on blood, (Blood Covenant) with the children of Israel including the Gentiles. Further it reveals that eating the unleavened bread resembles nothing in the Old Testament anymore, but eating His body, which was to be broken for us and drinking wine resembles nothing in the Old Testament anymore, but drinking His blood, which was to be shed for us.

Matthew 26:26-28
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

According to the opening scripture, taking part in the communion table more frequently remembers of the Lord's death and therefore it needs to be continued regularly (not annually) till the coming of the Lord.

But the deceiver, (the devil) still deceives people in the New Testament, which has been established by the blood of Christ, to live in the Old Testament by celebrating the Passover Feast according to the instructions given by Moses in the Old Testament in remembrance of the sacrifice of the blood of the passover lamb.

What do the bread and wine taken at the communion table bring us?

Bread resembles broken body of Christ. The body of Christ was broken in order to bring the healing to our bodies. Therefore unleavened bread brings us healing to our mortal bodies.

Wine resembles blood of Christ. The blood of Christ was shed for the remission of sin of many. Therefore wine brings us forgiveness of our sins.
Taking wine is more important than taking bread as the New Covenant is based on the blood. Those who do not take blood at the communion table do not enter into the covenant sealed by blood. It is this covenant that brings us forgiveness of sin.

Initially we need the forgiveness of our sins in order to receive the healing to our bodies through the unleavened bread we take at the communion table. Eating bread without drinking wine is just like eating dessert without having meals.

Today, the devil has deceived many Christians, who take part in the communion table, by preventing them from taking wine. If you take part in the communion table, it is very important that you drink wine as well. If not we are not going to inherit any blessings as we miss the forgiveness of our sins.
